The Rock of Cashel is an ancient royal site of the kings of Munster and first attained importance as a fortress.

Learn about the many ecclesiastical ruins which trace the history of Christianity in Ireland. Head to a local church to celebrate Mass with the group.

Enjoy a food tour and try many tantalizing treats as you leisurely walk through this harbor town on an adventure that is sure to please even an avid foodie. FRIDAY, JULY 19, 2024 : FLYING BOAT MUSEUM | ADARE

Ireland Adare Thatch Cottage

Leaving Kinsale, travel to Foynes and stop to visit the Flying Boat Museum which recalls the early days of air travel, during the 1930’s and early 1940’s, when Foynes was the fulcrum point for air traffic between the United States and Europe.

It's also the birthplace of the Irish Coffee, created to warm weary travelers; you'll learn how to make the 'perfect Irish Coffee' and then get to enjoy one.

Next, travel to Adare, Ireland's "prettiest and friendliest village." Adare was founded on the river Maigue in the 13th century. Adare is famous for its attractive main street of thatched houses and colorful gardens. Celebrate Mass and then stroll through the village and enjoy free time for lunch and shopping.

Drive to the town of Ennis and check in to your hotel. This evening enjoy dinner in the hotel. Afterward check out the great pubs and music of Ennis. (Breakfast)

SATURDAY, JULY 20, 2024 : ARAN ISLANDS | CLIFFS OF MOHER

Panoramic landscape of Inisheer Island, part of Aran Islands, Ireland.

Depart our hotel to the town of Doolin. Doolin is a village on Ireland’s west coast. It’s known as a gateway to the ancient sites on the Aran Islands, which are just offshore. The towering Cliffs of Moher lie southwest of town.

Take a short ferry ride across Galway Bay to Inis Oirr, a name derived from "Inis Oirthir" meaning island of the east, is the smallest and most eastern of the Aran Islands. These rocky islands are renowned for the hardy islanders who maintain traditional fishing and farming methods and where the popular intricately patterned fishermen’s sweaters originated. The Irish language is still spoken widely amongst islanders today. These islands are divided up into tiny fields by stone walls but farming is difficult as the winds tend to carry away the soil.

We'll celebrate Mass in the small church on Inis Oirr, where the locals are so appreciative of the opportunity to go to Mass, since they have a traveling priest across all the Aran Islands and weather can prevent him reaching the island.

On the return trip of the ferry, enjoy unequaled views of the famous Cliffs of Moher from the sea, with these prehistoric cliffs towering above you (weather permitting). After seeing the Cliffs from the water, we'll continue to the Cliffs Visitor Center for the classic view of this iconic site. The Cliffs of Moher is one of Ireland's top visitor attractions. The Cliffs are 702 feet high at the highest point and range for 5 miles over the Atlantic Ocean. Return to Ennis for a free evening to discover the many excellent restaurants and pubs with traditional music. (Breakfast)

Stop to visit St. Tola Farm, one of the many stops on the Burren Food Trail and a producer of handmade goat cheese. St. Tola's award-winning cheeses are sure to please even the most discerning palate. While here, enjoy a chance to sample the cheeses yourself.

Next, journey into Galway and embark on a panoramic tour to see the principle sights of the city. See the Spanish Arch in the Claddagh area, the City Museum and the Cathedral of Our Lady, which is build on the site of the former county jail.

You can see great views from this narrow inlet, which is surrounded by hills and cliffs. Also observe the seabirds, seals and otters that live in the waters. Return to Galway to explore the town independently.

Continue on to visit Kylemore Abbey, an impressive mansion that is home to an order of Benedictine nuns. We’ll celebrate Mass before independent time to explore this fascinating site. Explore the beautiful grounds and gardens at Knock Shrine, and learn the story of this sacred site. We will have Mass while at the Shrine.

The Story of Knock in East Mayo began on the evening of 21 August 1879, when people whose ages ranged from five years to seventy-five and included men, women, teenagers, children, witnessed what they claimed was an apparition of Our Lady, St Joseph, and St John the Evangelist at the south gable end of the local small parish church, the Church of St John the Baptist. Behind them and a little to the left of St John was a plain altar. On the altar was a cross and a lamb (a traditional image of Jesus, as reflected in the religious phrase The Lamb of God) with adoring angels.

After visiting Knock, travel into Belleek and stop to visit the Belleek Pottery Factory. Here you can watch skilled craftspeople mold and decorate the clay to form delicate and highly decorative pieces. For California Residents: We are a registered Seller of Travel in the State of California (CST 2103869-40). Registration as a Seller of Travel does not constitute approval by the State of California. We are not a participant in the California Travel Consumer Restitution Fund. California law requires certain sellers of travel to have a trust account, and we have a trust account at Bank of America. Upon cancellation of the transportation or travel services, where the guest is not at fault and has not canceled in violation of any terms and conditions previously clearly and conspicuously disclosed and agreed to by the guest, all sums paid to Tour Operator for services not provided will be promptly paid to the guest, unless the guest advises Tour Operator in writing, after cancellation. This provision does not apply where Recess 4 Grownups has remitted the payment to another registered wholesale seller of travel or a carrier, without obtaining a refund, and where the wholesaler or provider defaults in providing the agreed-upon transportation or service. In this situation, Recess 4 Grownups will provide the guest with a written statement accompanied by bank records establishing the disbursement of the payment, and if disbursed to a wholesale seller of travel, proof of current registration of that wholesaler.
