Depart your hometown and take an overnight flight to Warsaw. Enjoy in-flight entertainment and meal service on board.
THURSDAY AUGUST 31, 2023: ARRIVE IN WARSAW
Arrive in Warsaw, Poland. After completing customs and immigration formalities, you will be met and transferred to the city center where we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, we’ll take a short panoramic bus tour of Warsaw, the largest city in Poland. Rebuilt after being almost completely destroyed during World War II, the city now thrives as a modern capital with gothic-style influences. We will celebrate Mass at St. James Church, where Helena Kowalska, Sister Faustina, went when she first arrived in Warsaw. It was here that she attended Mass and confessed her sins to Rev. James Dabrowski, who advised her to stay and helped shape her future decision to join the convent.
Check into your hotel and enjoy a delicious welcome dinner at a local restaurant with the group before resting up for the night. (Lunch, Dinner)
OVERNIGHT: Polonia Palace Hotel, Warsaw
FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 1, 2023: OLD TOWN WARSAW
After breakfast, we will meet our guide and set out to explore Warsaw’s historic Old Town city center. Although it was demolished in World War II when the Nazis left Poland, Old Town has been beautifully restored to its former glory filled with cobblestone streets and stunning architecture. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll visit The Royal Castle, home of the Polish monarchs from 1596-1795, St. John’s Cathedral where many notable Poles are buried, and then spend some time exploring Lazienki Park, the summer residence of the last King of Poland, Stanislaw August Poniatowski. Admire one of Poland’s most treasured sculptures, the Chopin Monument, before continuing on to the Monument to the Heroes of the Ghetto, the place thousands of Jews stood before being deported to concentration camps. We’ll celebrate Mass at the Convent in Zytnia, where Helena Kowalska (Sister Faustina) made the decision to join the convent.
After Mass, enjoy free time on your own in the city center. You might want to stop at a local restaurant for traditional Polish dishes, do some shopping on Warsaw’s Royal Way, or pop into some of Old Town’s historic buildings.
Tonight will be a memorable experience as we enjoy a private Chopin concert followed by a Polish dinner at a local restaurant. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Czestochowa is home to the most important pilgrimage site in Poland – the monastery of Jasna Góra with the Black Madonna. It is believed to have been painted by St. Luke and was later enshrined by monks in this sacred site, serving as a symbol of protection for the country of Poland. St. John Paul II made many visits here throughout his life. We will take a guided tour of the Shrine of the Black Madonna and celebrate Mass at the monastery of Jasna Góra.

For California Residents: We are a registered Seller of Travel in the State of California (CST 2103869-40). Registration as a Seller of Travel does not constitute approval by the State of California. We are not a participant in the California Travel Consumer Restitution Fund. California law requires certain sellers of travel to have a trust account, and we have a trust account at Bank of America. Upon cancellation of the transportation or travel services, where the guest is not at fault and has not canceled in violation of any terms and conditions previously clearly and conspicuously disclosed and agreed to by the guest, all sums paid to Tour Operator for services not provided will be promptly paid to the guest, unless the guest advises Tour Operator in writing, after cancellation. This provision does not apply where Recess 4 Grownups has remitted the payment to another registered wholesale seller of travel or a carrier, without obtaining a refund, and where the wholesaler or provider defaults in providing the agreed-upon transportation or service. In this situation, Recess 4 Grownups will provide the guest with a written statement accompanied by bank records establishing the disbursement of the payment, and if disbursed to a wholesale seller of travel, proof of current registration of that wholesaler.
